- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy..
- Add eggs, one @ a time, and beat well after each addition..
- Dissolve soda in butter milk and add to creamed mixture..
- Place flour in large bowl and add dates, orange slice candies and nuts..
- Stir to coat all pieces well..
- Add flour mixture and coconut creamed mixture.
- Dough will be very stiff and easier to mix with hands..
- Put dough in a greased and floured 13x9x2-inch cake pan..
