Ingredients of Lobia Ragda Pattice

  1. It’s 2 cups of Black Eyed Beans or Lobia.
  2. It’s 1 tsp of Salt.
  3. It’s 2 tbsp of Oil.
  4. You need 2-3 of Green chillies finely chopped.
  5. Prepare 1 of Onion finely chopped.
  6. You need 1/8 tsp of Asafoetida.
  7. It’s 1 tbsp of Chana Masala.
  8. It’s 1 tsp of Red chilli powder.
  9. You need 1 tsp of Dry Mango powder or Amchur.
  10. Prepare 1 tsp of Cumin powder roasted.
  11. It’s 1 of small bunch Coriander Leaves finely chopped.
  12. You need of FOR THE POTATO PATTIES-.
  13. It’s 2-3 of Potatoes boiled and mashed.
  14. Prepare 1 tsp of Salt.
  15. It’s 1/2 tsp of Dry Mango powder or Amchur.
  16. You need 1 tsp of Black pepper powder.
  17. Prepare 1 tsp of Chat Masala.
  18. It’s 1 of small bunch Coriander Leaves finely chopped.
  19. It’s 2-3 tbsp of Oil for shallow frying.
  20. Prepare 1/2 cup of Sev.
  21. It’s 1/2 cup of Boondi.
  22. It’s 1/2 cup of Curd beaten.
  23. You need 1/2 cup of Dates Chutney.
  24. It’s 1/2 cup of Peanuts roasted.
  25. It’s 1 tsp of Chat Masala.
  26. Prepare 1 tbsp of Lemon juice.

Lobia Ragda Pattice step by step

  1. Soak Beans overnight for the best results. Boil with a little Salt until done. Do not over boil them. They get done very quickly. Keep aside. In a pan, heat Oil and add Asafoetida, Green chillies and chopped Onion. Saute them nicely until done. Now add the rest of the ingredients mentioned under it's making. Add boiled Beans to it. Cover and simmer for two more minutes..
  2. For the Potato Patties, mix everything well and shape into round tikkis or patties. Shallow fry few at a time in batches on a low heat. Keep them aside after all get done..
  3. For serving, place 2 patties on a plate. Spoon about 2-3 ladleful of the Black Eyed Beans Ragda on them. Further top up with Chutneys and other ingredients whatever are handy. Serve immediately with some generous sprinkle of Chat Masala. Lemon juice can be squeezed on top or else add some dry Anardana powder too. Or serve it just like that as we have already used Dry Mango powder or Amchur liberally. Enjoy!.
