- You need of celeriac (use middle part, cut into steak chunks), keep the small part to make celeriac chips.
- You need of olive oil.
- You need of salt and pepper.
- You need of garlic granules.
- Prepare of lemon zest.
- It’s of lemon.
- Prepare of Some vegetable cooking oil to fry.
- Prepare of Batter.
- It’s of plain flour.
- It’s of bicarbonate soda.
- Prepare of salt and pepper.
- It’s of turmeric.
- Prepare of cold water.
- You need of Sweet potato chips.
- Prepare of Recipe for spiced sweet potato chips (see recipe).
- You need of Side dish.
- Prepare of Tartar sauce.

Vegan Fish and Chips 🐟 instructions
- Sliced up celeriac into steak chunk size (leave the skin on). I use the middle part because it’s a good big size. Keep the small cuts to make chips if prefer. Seasoning with olive oil, garlic granules, salt and pepper. Make sure you coated them evenly both sides. Bake in oven on 200c for 45-50 mins or until it cooked and when you put fork in it soft in the middle. Once cooked, peels the skin off and coat the celeriac pieces with lemon zest and some lemon juice..
- Make the batter, mix all the batter ingredients together. Add cooked celeriac in and make sure the batter covered all of the celeriac..
- Add some vegetable cooking oil (about 1 cup) and wait until it’s medium to high heat. Add your celeriac or vegan fish in batter in and fry, once one side cooked turn over wait until the other side cooked. Place it on a kitchen towel plate to get the access oil out..
- Serve with sweet potato chips, tartar sauce and edamame bean or green pea (see recipe).
