  5. Prepare 1 tsp of baking powder.
  6. It’s 1/3 Cup of Shortening.
  7. You need 2/3 Cup of white sugar.
  8. Prepare 2 of large eggs.
  9. You need 1/4 tsp of baking soda.
  10. It’s 1 3/4 Cup of APF.
  11. It’s 1/4 Cup of chopped nuts (I used cashew nuts /walnuts).
  12. It’s 1/3 Cup of raw honey.
  13. It’s 1/2 tsp of salt.

  1. Prepare pan. Set aside..
  2. Warm milk and dates let it sit for 10mins. Break up the dates, I used a fork you can blend/ use food processor..
  3. Sift/ whisk together flour, salt, baking powder & soda, cinnamon powder. Set aside..
  4. Cream shortening for a minute. Add your sugars (honey & white) continue for 2minutes..
  5. Add one egg and vanilla essence then the other egg and mix till combined..
  6. Add 1/3 of the flour mixture..
  7. Add 1/2 of the milk/dates mixture..
  8. Keep alternating and finish with last 1/3 of flour..
  9. Fold in your chopped nuts..
  10. Pour into tin and bake for 45 – 50 mins or until done!.
